LANE DAVIES: I LOVE HORROR BOOKS
The honorary chairman of SB Fans Club (of the ANTENNA newspaper) Lane Davies is once again a guest of the ANTENNA. I HAVE FOUND RUSSIA FOR MYSELF
Q: Lane, youre now a frequent guest in Russia. What can you say about this country?
A: After Ive been to Siberia I feel I have finally found my own Russia.
Q: What do you value in Russians and in people on the whole?
A: I like a sense of humor that helps to drive away stresses. I like intelligent people because they are tolerant to others opinions.
Q: You always carry a lot of books with you. What kind of books do you like to read?
A: There is a genre that lets me have a rest and distraction. It is horrors. I like Stephen King and other writers working in this genre.
Q: How does your typical morning start?
A: In a usual way, I think. A yogurt, a coffee and a fresh newspaper. My three-year-old son is the first to get up, my five-year-old is the second. We sit and watch TV till all the three of us are fully awake.
ITS ALWAYS PLEASANT TO FORGIVE
Q: They say that only mediocre people do not have enemies. Do you?
A: I hope I have more friends than enemies. When you work at the theatre in a team its absolutely necessary to create an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding.
Q: Is there anything you couldnt forgive?
A: I do not think theres such a thing. I can keep angry for a long while, not talk to the person, but in the long run I always forgive. Its always pleasant to forgive!
Q: What are the drawbacks of your character?
A: I would like to be a more disciplined person, to become more fit, to learn a second language. A year ago I simultaneously started learning French and Russian.
SEE YOU IN A RUSSIAN SOAP!
Q: Do you have moments when you would give up everything including your theatre?
A: No. Im hard to change. I am what I am and nothing else. Theatre, cinema, Santa Barbara is my life and I want no other.
Q: Russians have grown sincerely fond of you. I hope we will be seeing you as Mason for a long time?
A: When I come to Russia I derive great pleasure from the feeling of authentic friendship. And I sincerely wish you the best. Alas, in a year another actor will be playing my character, Mason, but I am sure well meet again in a movie, or maybe in a Russian soap!
